Platycerium ellisii, from Madagascar, is a small platycerium, with round, clasping shields, and fertile fronds with a V shape at the end of the frond.
Shields are glossy green, turning chestnut-brown, shortly after maturing.
Challenging to grow well, this is not a very showy species. It seems to like more water than most platycerium.
