Platycerium holttumii is a giant staghorn from Southeast Asia and Malaysia.  It likes bright light, warm temperatures, and needs good air movement.  Susceptible to rots, it is a little more demanding than the other giant stags.

Plants in habitat can have spectacular fertile fronds.  In cultivation, they are usually reduced.  A well grown plant is still impressive.

Platycerium holttumii has two fertile lobes, one raised lobe, and one lobe on the pendant frond.  Platycerium holttumii sometimes has fingers on the raised lobe, which separates it from Platycerium wandae.  Another difference is that Platycerium wandae has frills around the bud.
